Graham Winton did a superb job on Roger Lowenstein's superb bookabout Warren Buffet, a superb American Capitalist.
Really enjoyed this as a great insight into the man and a snapshot of some of the major events of the stock market over the lost 60 odd years. Well worth your time. Graham Winton is an excellent narrator and Buffet is an interesting subject given his low profile persona.
If you could sum up Buffett in three words, what would they be?Entrepreneur, Frugal, InvestorWhat was one of the most memorable moments of Buffett?I believe his childhood and his strong desire to accumulate wealth for the simple fun of having wealth.I find that I have a similar drive that helps me relate to his passion for success regardless of what issues may come up in his path.
Favorite quote " Buffet's son Pete stipulated to me mentioned in his will, so Buffet wrote "hi Pete"..Along side of few valuable lessons as to credit is better to have than debt, I have learned few things of not to do.. as to be stingy with money as he was which put a strain on his family.. as a personal opinion, what is the point in accumulation wealth for the sake of accumulating it.. as he was agnostic and spent his life obsessing over death, did he really live?And loss in a afterlife with Christ is a the ultimate loss.. what a waste of life..
well researched, a bit in the economics weeds for oral consumption here and there, but enlightening and entertaining.
Very good story, very well put together, very dry however. Then again, it is about the investment world.
I will admit, I thought this was going to be Buffett's version of the "Intelligent Investor" but I fully enjoyed this biography very much! Well worth the listen / read!!
