Dropped early on 8, Tendulkar batted patiently at first in a 144-run stand with Manoj Prabhakar, before shifting gears with authority. His innings of 115, featuring nine fours and three sixes, showcased control, timing and classic strokeplay. Although Tendulkar was run out in freak fashion, India were already cruising and completed the chase comfortably with seven wickets to spare, sealing a convincing home victory.
