Dane is a training partner of mine who has 40+ fights and went undefeated in Thailand in his last 14 fights some of the top competition from around the world. To improve your Muay Thai game you need to focus on sparring as much as possible. This video demonstrates what you should look like when you are technical sparring in Muay Thai. The key is to focus on control and technique over power. One of the advantages of technical sparring is it allows smaller guys to work with much larger opponents because there is no power being used. The key is for both people to control their power when they are sparring. If one person is sparring softly and the other person hits hard, then it will end up turning into an all out war. By turning down the power, you will develop much better control and really work on your timing. This will also allow you to spar much more frequently, than if you are going at a hard pace. Technical sparring is by far the best way to improve your overall Muay Thai game and develop the timing necessary to land your techniques on your opponents.
