On March 30, the M-1 Challenge 101 international mixed martial arts tournament took place in Almaty. It featured a fight for the organization's light heavyweight championship, pitting two undefeated fighters with identical 7-0 records and devastating striking techniques. Reigning champion Khadis Ibragimov of Team Sambo-Piter defended his title against Rafal Kijanczuk.
