Arc Raiders Needs These 3 Easy Fixes

Arc Raiders is great. But there are a few small things that are way more irritating than they should be. I’m a game developer and designer with 13 years of experience, and in this video I’m pointing out 3 problems in Arc Raiders that feel like they should be fixable without redesigning the whole game. The three issues: Practice range damage is unreliable Headshots don’t seem to count properly on mannequins, which makes weapon testing harder than it should be. The item wheel / quick-select system feels broken on keyboard and mouse Especially when you try to select items quickly during fights. Vaulting and jumping over certain ledges feels inconsistent Some heights look climbable, but the character just refuses to move properly. These are not huge feature requests. They are small friction points that make the game feel worse than it needs to. And with Arc Raiders moving toward slower, bigger content updates, I hope Embark has time to fix stuff like this.
