Pep Guardiola says City will need the perfect game to overhaul Real Madrid in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg but believes the Etihad clash is an 'incredible opportunity' for his team. City will kick-off Tuesday night’s game trailing 3-0 from last week’s first leg at the Bernabeu. Overcoming such a deficit would be a demanding challenge against any side, let alone a team boasting the pedigree of Real, who are 15-times European champions. City though – especially during Guardiola’s storied reign – have relished answering the toughest of tests and conjuring up special nights at the Etihad. And as looked ahead to the tie at Monday’s pre-match press conference, the boss said it was an occasion to both relish and cherish – and said he had no doubts his players were ready to embrace the challenge. “It’s a football game and many things can happen. This sport has taught us that a lot of things can happen in a football game,” Pep pointed out. “We have to focus and try to firstly win the game and then after see what happens. “Most of them are new in this experience and we are not the same group that many years. “But at the same time, it’s an incredible experience and opportunity to try.
