Season 7.5 introduced a new mechanic called "Tenacity" that triggers when If a Hero suffers 5.5 seconds of total CC duration or is hit by 6 CC effects within a 7-second window. Chain-CC Protection activates which instantly purges all active CC effects and grants the Hero 30% Tenacity for 3 seconds.
