This is when John Cena and Batista met for the first time. In July 2008, Batista faced CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title, where JBL attacked Batista, ending in a DQ. JBL hit Batista with the Clothesline from Hell and threw Punk out of the ring. Cena came out for the save and he punched Batista by mistake. Then they started brawling until the officials stopped them. A week later, Cena said he made a mistake, needs to face the consequences, called out Batista and he appeared. Batista said he knows things happen in the heat of the moment and it's all cool. He said after he wins the title, Cena can challenge him for it. Cena said Batista already got two shots at the title and he’s not sure if he’ll get another. Batista said Punk can’t beat him but neither can Cena. Cena said Batista versus Cena is a WrestleMania main event caliber match but they shouldn’t wait until that and challenged him for that night. When Batista was about to accept, Shane McMahon interrupted. Shane said the new general manager will be introduced later that night. He would’ve loved to see them fight, but they are already scheduled in a tag team match together against JBL and Kane. Cryme Tyme told Cena he shouldn’t trust Batista because if he pins someone in that match, he will get a title shot. Batista appeared and said he will get a shot at the title. Cena told Batista they should get through tonight and they will see what happens. Batista said he doesn’t trust him and he knows Cena can’t trust him either, adding that he should stay out of his way. Cena said it’s his thoughts exactly. Then the match started. Kane went after JBL, Batista hit him with a spear and Cena followed with the FU to win the match. Shane appeared, wanted to introduce the new GM but he didn’t appear, because he was already in the ring. It was Mike Adamle, who announced a match between Cena and Batista at Summerslam. A week later, Adamle made Cena and Batista challenge for the tag titles. Batista said he loves the idea but he’s not sure teaming up with Cena. Hopes the
