One thing that is unique to Muay Thai fighters is their rhythm and stance. This video demonstrates an example of the typical Muay Thai rhythm that fighters have to stay balanced and in a position ready to attack or defend. This position is a very strong defensive position because it allows you to block incoming kicks and punches from all angles. Pay attention to how I pace back and forth, transferring the feet from each foot. By pacing back and forth, you will put yourself in a position to attack and defend at any moment. Rhythm is an essential part of Muay Thai because it allows fighters to be in a very protective stance at all times. While you won't always be in this position when you are either rushing inside your opponent's range or moving out, you should always come back to this basic position.
