"Local Legends" introduces Jun de Guzman, a 47-year-old blacksmith from Tuba, Benguet. Guzman shares the lessons he learned from his parents and those he wants to impart to his child. He recalls how he became a blacksmith and explains why he fell in love with his wife. He also talks about the occupational hazards that blacksmiths commonly experience. "Local Legends" features the story of 70-year-old shoemaker Rolando Santos who helped revive Marikina's shoe industry by creating a pair of leather shoes for none another than Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Marikina Shoe Industry Development Office (MASIDO) OIC Noel Box starts off by providing a brief history of Marikina's famed shoe industry. Rolando then looks back on his upbringing in a family who had a reputation for making quality leather shoes, and looks back on his career as one of the oldest shoe designers in Marikina City. Rolando then talks about how he came up with the idea to create a pair of leather shoes for Pres. Duterte, and explains how the president eventually received the pair through the help of his personal tailor. Noel then weighs in on how Rolando's bold act helped revive Marikina's shoemaking industry. "Local Legends" features arnis grandmaster Rodel Dagooc. Grandmaster Dagooc talks about the practicality and effectiveness of arnis and looks back on learning the martial art when he came to Manila to find work. He then explains how he began his career as a martial arts teacher and admits that his profession was not very profitable back in the 1960s and 1970s. After arnis gained more attention in the 1980s, Dagooc began receiving invitations to conduct arnis seminars abroad. He then used the money to start his own arnis cane manufacturing business. He demonstrates how to make grade A arnis canes and talks about the legacy he hopes to leave behind.
