Publisher's Summary With news of Horus' treachery spreading across the galaxy, the Great Crusade grinds to a halt as the primarchs and their Legions decide where their loyalty lies - with the Emperor or with the rebel Warmaster. The Dark Angels, too, face a time of testing, both among the stars and on their home world, Caliban. Luther, once Lion El'Jonson's trusted second-in-command, now languishes as an exile in all but name while his master struggles to thwart the traitors' advance upon the forge world Diamat. But an ancient evil gathers its strength beneath the surface of Caliban, and the First Legion will soon be thrust into a deadly conflict where all that they know will be cast into doubt. ©2009 Games Workshop Limited (P)2013 Games Workshop Limited

Surprising twist at the end. This one doesn't disappoint. Performance is very good as always.
title says it all, just trying to get to 15 words now. which can be difficult.
talk about a massive plot twist in the epilogue, holy shit. always read the epilogue people.
read after Decent of Angels it carries on right afterwardsand keeps the story going
Another good Dark Angel HH novel.Half the book about Lion El Johnson and half about Luther.Needs more Horus in these novels but still good.
Holy smokes what an amazing story and story telling only 20 more books to go
A definite good book but not so good narrator. Childish voices, and odd vocalisations overall.
This was a better Dark Angels book than the Decent of Angels. Unfortunately it leaves you hanging but in a good spot to help build suspense.
History is written by the victors... But what stories could tell the defeated? Great book
Full disclosure: Dark Angels are my legion. However this is the novel that begins the fall of an incredible fogure and I feel it's just incredibly well done. While could be overlooked in the scheme of the greater "Heresy". I say you shouldn'tMike Lee is in my opinion underrated among the likes of Abnett and Dembski Bowden and I'm just going to say it: He cuts straight through the perspective fluff of the obnoxious remembrancers and gives me exactly what I want, space marine focus narrative. Don't like them, never did. This is exactly what I want from a heresy novel and is told mainly from the perspectives of exiled Librarian Zahariel in Caliban and Chaplain Nemiel embarking on a trademark Dark Angel's special operation to undermine the Horus heresy. Things go all wrong on Caliban when a hidden rebellion that had been festering underneath the surface begins to emerge to the fore and certain players seem to have turned all to blind an eye.
