One of the most effective ways to help athletes perform on the court is to adapt practice drills to mimic the 6v6 game. In the second of five drill demonstrations, Karch Kiraly, Head Coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team, guides coaches through a “Penalty” drill. This drill entails starting at a tied game-score and taking away a point when a certain focus/skill is not executed successfully on the court; this drill is best used when trying to eliminate extraneous movements or attentional shifts on the court.
