To give a positive evaluation, It reminded me of Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raider at first. It was interesting because it contained a lot of Chinese elements, for example, what they were trying to find was eternal medicine. I wasn't that boring throughout the running time, maybe because I didn't expected it too much before watching. Another interesting thing is that various oriental monsters come out. It was impressive to watch the main characters overcome various obstacles. I wanna recommend it to people who likes adventure films such as Indiana Jones series or Jungle Cruise. You can compare the different style of Hollywood and Chinese film.
Very fantastic action and underrated movie! Amazing story telling, screen play, direction, acting, cinematography! Especially I loved the unique creatures. I could feel the efforts of the staffs who created those monsters. Their movements were vivid like real ones. Also, the tension throughout the running time was such a nail biter. The movie deserves higher ratings! It really got rid of my prejudice about Chinese movies. They're never behind comparing with other popcorn movies. I'd like to recommend to the people who love adventure movies. They will enjoy this one, too. I was able to vicariously satisfy myself through this movie.
I know people would expect more. Now days, people become very smart, so makers should be smarter. But sadly, especially for independent makers, it's very difficult. Even if they have very great ideas, it's industry. They need money. But if they even don't have ideas? It's nothing. So ideas are the start. With that opinion? I think it has a quite good idea. That's why I want to give it a high score. Courage is what they need. Not the sort of cruel a few stars. People are smart. But I think they don't think when they throw just a few stars. I really do hope people get more kind. All we need is Love, friends.
My Years As the Ghoul is GREAT Chinese movie I've ever watched. There are a lot of action scene worth watching. Also, many monsters and trap are in the underground labyrinth. The appearance of many monsters and various traps have brilliant ideas. So I couldn't miss the tension during watching whole movie. The three character's friendship chemistry was also very good. I love a leading lady character because she is not only so beautiful but also powerfully charismatic as a warrior. The story of the hero and his father was so sad and touched. The love and miss for his father...I really want to next one of this movie.
