With WWF Raw airing on the USA Network and WCW Nitro broadcasting live on TNT at the same time, fans had to choose which program they would watch, and this series takes a look at what was on each channel while comparing every match, promo and segment of the Monday Night Wars. 1997 is considered one of the very best years in pro wrestling, and this week's Reliving The War looks at the very first episodes of Raw and Nitro of the year. On WCW Nitro, the issues between the nWo and The Giant continue to escalate, The Giant wants his WCW World Heavyweight Title shot against Hulk and the champion isn't eager to defend the gold. Elsewhere on the show, Eddie Guerrero battles Alex Wright, Harlem Heat are in action, and Lex Luger takes on Meng. On the WWF channel, Shawn Michaels gears up for his match with Sycho Sid at the Royal Rumble but the champion but things get a little more personal this week.
