The WWF aired a pilot episode back in April 1999 however the show made it's "full time" UPN weekly debut on August 26th 1999. The branding of the show, the unique oval titantron and oval entranceway all made their debut on this very show, and this historic episode of Smackdown features a blockbuster main event pitting WWF Champion Triple H against The Rock (with Shawn Michaels serving as the special guest referee).
