The event is one of the most important shows WCW ever presented as it features the Hulk Hogan heel turn that shook the world of professional wrestling. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash left WWF to join WCW. Upon their arrival, The Outsiders said they wanted to take over World Championship Wrestling with Scott Hall saying the words “You Want a War? You’re gonna’ get one”. Hall and Nash promised a third man would join them at Bash at the Beach 96 for their match against Sting, Lex Luger and Macho Man Randy Savage, and the big revelation at Bash at the Beach sent shockwaves through-out the wrestling universe as Hulk Hogan joined Hall and Nash. Bash at the Beach 1996 would serve as a platform for the genesis of the nWo. The hostile takeover at this very pay per view would completely change WCW and the wrestling business.
