Bukayo Saka has come second in the voting for our men’s Player of the Season for 2024/25. The winner in 2020/21 and 2021/22 takes the silver medal this time around, having enjoyed a stellar campaign that saw him net 12 times in all competitions and create another 13 for his teammates, across 37 appearances. Those numbers mean Bukayo is one of only three Premier League players to reach double figures for both goals and assists across all competitions in each of the last three seasons, alongside Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes. He started the campaign on fire, becoming the second player in the competition’s history to provide an assist in each of a team's first five games, after Thierry Henry in 2004/05. His 11 Premier League assists came in his first 12 appearances up until the end of November before a hamstring injury interrupted his form, but despite missing three months of the campaign, only Salah, Jacob Murphy and Anthony Elanga contributed more across the division. In December, Saka both scored and assisted in three consecutive appearances against Nottingham Forest, Sporting Lisbon and West Ham United, becoming the first player to do so for us since Cesc Fabregas in September 2007. Later that month, he played his 250th game for the club against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. He returned from injury in memorable fashion by netting what proved to be the winner against Fulham in April, and followed that up with a famous goal in the Bernabeu to help beat Real Madrid, and score against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final. His 12 goals put him only behind Kai Havertz in our standings, but no-one could come close to his 25 goal involvements.
