Professor LI ZHENG elaborated on China's progress in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). He pointed out that the NbS response has multiple synergistic effects on climate change and the protection of biodiversity. Tsinghua University Institute for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (ICCSD) established a C+NbS cooperation platform to disseminate the latest global practice of NbS in China and tell the world the story of China’s NbS. In October 2020, ICCSD joined the Countdown Global Initiative and launched a TED x ICCSD series of activities.

LI LIN, Foreign Leader of the Biodiversity Expert Group of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, reflected on the relationship between humans, nature, and the deteriorating situation of biodiversity, and re-examined the foundation and solutions for sustainable development. Li Lin introduced international cases of ecological restoration, demonstrated the global biodiversity process and the grand framework of WWF. Li Lin called on everyone to be decision-makers for their individual actions, and the whole society to implement the NbS concept in every action, which makes this concept decisive.

In the professional world, they hold different posts and titles. But in the Tsinghua Alumni Dance Team, they are simply dancers. “Our love for dancing drives us to give it our best,” said Liao Ying, the team leader. With a shared passion for dancing, the alumni come together once to revel in the physicality of movement and music. From 2018 to 2020, the team held three performances both online and offline, all with resounding success. Their dedication embodies the Tsinghua spirit of “actions speak louder than words.” Their enthusiasm remains undiminished, and they will continue to blossom on the dance floor in the years to come. Gong Yifeng graduated from Tsinghua University in 2008 and worked in 12 different grassroots positions in Lhasa, Tibet. He worked hard in leading the poverty alleviation work and helping the rapid development of Tibet.
