Diamond Dallas Page would get involved in a rivalry with Macho Man Randy Savage that won both men the PWI feud of the year, spanning across multiple pay per views including Spring Stampede 97, The Great American Bash 97 and the 1997 Halloween Havoc event. The year started off with a "BANG" for Dallas when he refused to join the nWo, dropping Scott Hall with a Diamond Cutter inside the New Orleans Superdome. From this point on DDP would rise up the ranks in WCW, becoming one of the company's most celebrated superstars.
