KS2 Religious education

In this lesson, we will be studying in detail the five main pillars of Islam; Shahadah, Salat, Zakat, Sawm and Hajj. These are considered by Muslims to be the most important practices of their religion.

In this lesson, we will be learning about the Qur'an, the Muslim Holy Book which was revealed to Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel over a period of 23 years.

In this lesson, we will be learning about the mosque, the Muslim place of worship. We begin by recapping our previous learning regarding the Qur'an, before looking at the external and internal features of the Mosques.

In this lesson, we will be exploring the beginning of the religion of Islam. We will learn about the life of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, who established the religion following revelations from the Angel Gabriel.

In this lesson, we will be learning about some of the key aspects of the Muslim faith, exploring their six main beliefs, as well as taking a glance at the Five Pillars of Islam.

In this lesson, we will be using all of the key pieces of knowledge we have acquired over the course of this unit to continue to plan and write an essay.

In this lesson, we will be learning about some of the ways in which Christians express their faith. We will be learning about the symbol of the crucifix, Christian dress, Christian art and recapping the parable of the Good Samaritan, and how Christians express their faith by adopting the message of this parable.
