Burcu Erkmen, a graduate student in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program, delivers her "News at Noon" talk at the MIT Museum. The event is co-sponsored by the MIT News Office and the Museum, and features researchers discussing their recently promoted work. On Dec. 7, Berkmen discussed her research with Professors Utkan Demirci and Ed Boyden in developing 3-D brain tissue constructs. On the way to accomplishing this complex task, Erkmen and team adapted multiple layer photolithography to precisely build tissue structures only microns in size.
