During his time, he was one of the greatest Kyokushin competitors of his era. When he transitioned to kickboxing from karate, he did better than all of his peers. As a smaller heavyweight, he defeated some of the greatest of all time and came very close to winning the most prestigious tournament multiple times. This is a tribute to his greatness, in particular to how he passed away young. It's a reminder that we don't always have tomorrow so that we should always treasure the present.
