Publisher's Summary The Last Emperox is the thrilling conclusion to the award-winning, New York Times and USA Today best-selling Interdependency series, an epic space opera adventure from Hugo Award-winning author John Scalzi. The collapse of The Flow, the interstellar pathway between the planets of the Interdependency, has accelerated. Entire star systems - and billions of people - are becoming cut off from the rest of human civilization. This collapse was foretold through scientific prediction...and yet, even as the evidence is obvious and insurmountable, many still try to rationalize, delay and profit from, these final days of one of the greatest empires humanity has ever known. Emperox Grayland II has finally wrested control of her empire from those who oppose her and who deny the reality of this collapse. But "control" is a slippery thing, and even as Grayland strives to save as many of her people form impoverished isolation, the forces opposing her rule will make a final, desperate push to topple her from her throne and power, by any means necessary. Grayland and her thinning list of allies must use every tool at their disposal to save themselves, and all of humanity. And yet it may not be enough. Will Grayland become the savior of her civilization...or the last emperox to wear the crown? ©2020 John Scalzi (P)2020 Audible, Inc.

I love anythingWil Wheaton reads and almost anything Scalzi writes, this series is definitely in Scalzi's top 3.. I recommend starting at the beginning of series but I liked this book best.
Although the language and dirty jokes were a bit much for me, the overall story was entertaining. Hope for another series from the author, soon.
Poorly wrapped up trilogy. Left a lot to be answered. Scalzi just half assed this which was disappointing. There were a lot of loose ends and plot holes left unanswered.Three books worth of issues tied together in 20 mins of exposition. Real let down here.
loved the first part and still loved the characters and Wil as always is a awesome narrator, but it just seemed towards the middle scalzi just wanted to be done with this universe and rushed the ending, I do hope that scazi decides to have side or a continuation within this universe.
I know this seems wrong to write but it focused too much on almost an entire female cast of characters in this novel. There are a lot of F-bombs that make the dialogue seem like junior high. I am not offended by the course language but there was soooo much that it detracted from the book.Scalzi is the best, even if this isn’t.
After an hour and a half in i could not take the exposition anymore! It’s nearly entirely exposition.I enjoyed the first to books and was looking forward to seeing the end but I just can’t care enough to make it through.. I’m out
For starters this has been a very great series and excellent book. That being said i have mixed feelings about the ending. I won't spoil it for anyone. you will have to decide for yourself. Overall though this has been my favorite series by Scalzi.
A thoroughly engrossing final act to Scalzi's Interdependency trilogy. While the actual ending left me wanting, the journey to get there was nothing if not fun. My main issue stems from how competent Scalzi showed his three protagonists to be in previous volumes, and thus he had to give his villains a lot more credit than they deserved. So much so that, at times, credulity was strained. Additionally, Wheaton has improved as a narrator. He is still inconsistent between characters (particularly between novels), but other than the central three, there seems to be more of an effort made on his part to create vocal identities. All that said, it was a pleasure to be back in the company of Cardenia, Marce, and Kiva.
I love John Scalzi and Wil Weaton. Trilogy was really well set up in Books 1 and 2 but failed to close off to its full potential. The book could have been longer and could have spent more time developing a story in the End System with Gremmy and other characters such as Marce Clairemonts Sister. Great book, a lot more potential. SPOILER ALERT BELOWAlternate ending suggestion - Grayland did not need to die. Grayland could have used Ray Kella’s AI to its full potential and revealed it in the same manner she did to achieve the same outcome.
The 3rd installment delivers everything you would expect from John Scalzi and his interdepency story. Fun, fast moving story line with lots of humor delivered perfectly by Wil Wheaton. Plenty of surprises and unexpected turns of events. I just can't shake the feeling it was a bit rushed. Some important characters from the previous two books are mentioned only in the prolog and epilogue.
