source: Once Were Lions
A brilliant look into the GB Lions comeback tour of 2019. Excellent behind the scenes for hardcore fans, which really brews up emotions, and a good overall look at the sport for first-timers. Perceptions of certain players can be changed or solidified, but what is certain is falling in love with Papua New Guinea and their passion for the sport. Something GB needs to strive for. We're fortunate to be getting more documentaries on rugby league of late, and this one is up there with Power Meri and Rob Burrow's Year with MND. Was the tour a success or a failure? Decide for yourself.
A brilliant documentary about a disastrous Lions tour. The way the tour was managed and implemented needs a documentary in itself as Wayne Bennett was NOT the man to lead this BG pack. I really hope that the GB Lions franchise isn't done and dusted but if this is what we get after a 12 year absence I'm not holding my breath. We need a decent World Cup from Wales and Scotland for there being any chance. Once Were Lions did a great job of whetting my appetite for the League season coming up. The RL family is the warmest, most inclusive and brilliant professional sporting family.
