Publisher's Summary The Ickabog is coming.... A mythical monster, a kingdom in peril, an adventure that will test two children’s bravery to the limit. Discover a brilliantly original fairy tale about the power of hope and friendship to triumph against all odds, from one of the world’s best storytellers. The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own. Could a myth unseat a beloved king? Could a myth bring a once happy country to its knees? Could a myth thrust two children into an adventure they didn’t ask for and never expected? If you’re feeling brave, immerse yourself in this audiobook to find out.... PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, a PDF including full-color illustrations from the winning artists of The Ickabog Illustration Competitions run by Hachette Children’s and Scholastic will appear in your library along with the audio. Stephen Fry is an excellent storyteller. the story is dark while the ending is predictable
What a delightful story ,great characters and Stephen Fry is an awesome narrator. There is violence but nonetheless a wonderful story.
J.K. Rowling did not disappoint with this book. The Ickabog is sure to become a classic fairytale.
I loved it sooo much! I’ve read all the Harry Potter books and loved them. I’m soooo happy J.K. Rowling is writing again! ❤️❤️
Love JKR'S wordplay. Stephen Fry was perfect.Great story! Thank you,JK Rowling, another masterpiece.
Loved it. So glad I had the pleasure of listening to another amazing tale by the other JK! Can't wait for more.
I really didn't know what to expect, but JK has once again proven her mastery of writing children's stories that captivate an audience of all ages. And Stephen Fry did an exceptional job as orator. Awesome, highly recommend!
Highly recommend to anyone! What a fabulous story beautifully narrated by Stephen Fry. One of the best audiobooks, I've heard in a long time.
This story was nothing special. It's a re-make of an age-old algorithm and it's not even a creative one. JK Rowling describes every character that is fat, as disgusting, lazy, and evil. It's exhausting and sad. Underdeveloped characters, an uninteresting storyline, and overall a waste of time.
