The Power of Positive Thinking

What disappointed you about The Power of Positive Thinking?While some of the methods described are universal this book had too many religious and Jesus references which made this Jewish girl uncomfortable at times. Has The Power of Positive Thinking turned you off from other books in this genre?I didn't know it was based on mostly religious beliefs and the Bible.I need some advice that is more universal to anyone, not just religious people.Would you be willing to try another one of the narrator’s performances?No. The author had a slow sort of southern drawl which was annoying to me. If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Power of Positive Thinking?All of the Bible and Jesus references.

Would you try another book from Norman Vincent Peale and/or the narrator?probably not. unless you are a devote christian then this book will make you roll your eyesWhat was most disappointing about Norman Vincent Peale’s story?It is way to centred on religion. If believing in god is your thing then this book is great however if you couldn't care less about religion this book will irritate you. Any additional comments?I appreciate what Norman is saying however if you are not religious then do not listen to it. People are entitled to their views and if you choose to live your life by the bible that is fine however for a non-churchie listening to the constant 'god' talk makes the book lose its appeal very quickly. Wish i could get a refund.

What did you like best about The Power of Positive Thinking? What did you like least?Completely based on faith in the Lord. Although the author speaks from experience, I think his experiences were too vague or maybe even exxagerated a bit.His voice is really old andhard to relate to.I though the highlights were a little vague as well.What was the most interesting aspect of this story? Who should the stars be?I think with his examples that many people would have a hard time relating with his generalities.

Would you try another book from Norman Vincent Peale and/or the narrator?If you are a devout Christian or Catholic then you will LOVE this book.I am not so I was really disappointed, especially since I had been looking forward to reading/listening to this for a while.I can tolerate a little religious insight, but Mr. Peale literally beats you over the head with the bible the whole way through.I did listen to the whole thing and got a few things from it, but I always lose respect for an author or speaker when they push their religious views on you.
