🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION: On December 3, 2011, inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto faced Mexican warrior Antonio Margarito in a long-awaited rematch. Their first meeting in 2008 ended in a late stoppage win for Margarito, but controversy surrounding his hand wraps added fuel to an already intense rivalry heading into the second fight. This time, Cotto came in with a clear and disciplined strategy. From the opening bell, he controlled the fight with a sharp jab, slick footwork, and precise combinations, keeping Margarito from settling into his usual pressure. Cotto repeatedly targeted Margarito’s vulnerable right eye, landing clean left hooks and uppercuts whenever the Mexican tried to close the distance.
