Saori Izawa is a talented stuntwoman and she can pull of the stunts really well. I like the goofy and cute chemistry between the two protagonists. The movie slows down during the middle parts of it and it kind of got boring. It seems like these characters don't really have a goal that like drives the plot forward. They just kind of wander around doing random stuff until something happens. There was like an attempt to have an emotional scene because you thought one character was going to die but there is a twist to it that takes away the emotional impact that it could've had. The two villains were somewhat relatable and I enjoyed their interactions with each other but they just shows up at random times and I forgot about them for most of the movies. They also never really seemed to pose a threat to the protagonists until at the end. The end fight was good but the other action scenes were kind of forgettable.
I quite liked Beibî warukyûre (2021) . While by no means a masterpiece, it did have a lot of charm. The goofy interaction between the two protagonists, the incredibly energetic and well-choreographed fight scenes, and the final confontation with the yakuza made for a fun watch. Alas, the sequel is a dud in this reviewer's opinion. The interaction between Mahiro and Chisato is no longer goofy and funny, but rather overacted in such a manner that it just becomes stupid. There is still some okay-looking choreography showing us that Saori Izawa is one heck of a stuntwoman and martial arts expert, but there is nothing new to be seen and frankly it was not as impressive as in the first film. The villians are a couple of somewhat relatable guys which doesn't really work, this type of film needs nameless thugs that can be discarded without regard. The 'big' finale lacks energy, as does the whole movie. I thought some of the gunfights looked suspiciously fake with muzzle flash added in post. Lazy writing, poor production values, obviously trying to squeeze some more cash out of what was not a bad idea. Pity Yugo Sakamoto didn't leave well enough alone.
One hour Into the movie I found myself sleepy I mean very sleepy to the point it's absolutely not interesting; and tedious to watch. I've enjoyed the first one. But this is a huge let down. Actors did their part; it's just that there is no substance in the story. Like the other reviews pointed out the interactions are no longer dark, cute, witty and funny like the first part. It felt like a slow moving soap opera. Screen play is okayish, action sceans are just avg. However I will be waiting for the 3rd part. Maybe the director could come up with good storyline and character development and screenpaly. On a Side Note: Just skip to the last 10 mins of the movie if you still wanna watch!!. You will thank me. You are welcome.
