If you are expecting to see a movie with good special effects this is not for you. If you like intelligent joke,s this is for you. Last time that i remember to laugh so much was in Shrek.
Well, it's a Brazilian movie and I read in the other reviews that you need to be Brazilian to fully appreciate it. Okay, I'm not a Brazilian, so if some stuff was lost in translation then it was lost for me. But I guess I can still write a review telling what I saw and what I felt. So let's start. When watching it, you will immediately remember old classics like Beverly Hills Cop or Police Academy. It's that kind of film. Some people would say it's parody but can you really do a parody of a comedy? It's rather a rip-off of such films. Very silly, very improbable and occasionally funny. With a lot of well known cliches like two cops with totally different personalities. It wasn't even very Brazilian for me, it could happen in Usa, Hong Kong, France or wherever. For me sometimes it worked, sometimes it was cringy. I would probably find it more funny if I was younger. Is it just me or stupid films are generally less fun when you get older?
Long time I didn't see an Brazilian comedy like this. Laughed a lot! If you're not Brazilian, not even try it.
I could not get through 20 minutes of this piece of $hit. Maybe it got better; proceed at your own risk. If you naturally spoke Portuguese, the movie might be good. The version that I saw has the dubbed English as if is English was ESL, specifically Oriental. Imagine that -- a Latino movie with East Asian English speech. Moreover, the speech & mouth movement is way off.
Very well done, it's a similar style to Will Ferrell, the characters are very lovable, I wish 'the watch' had been done more like this because these actors manifest the Pratchett humour perfectly, ranging from subtle to so blunt you could measure with it.. A lot of the conversations are ones you've had before that leave you feeling like you're the nutcase while people pass off their idiosyncrasies as the norm. I also love the way gentle people are passively portrayed as a majority rather than the western vice versa.

This movie loaded with clichés that are no longer funny, causing shame in others. Great cast with the illustrious presence of Matheus Nachtergaele but in a film that doesn't even come close to the epic Auto da Compadecida (2000). Brazil has already produced more authentic comedians. I wasted my time.
