I like that movies
source: Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between
The pacing of this movie felt off for me. When the movie started I thought I missed something because the beginning of their relationship was so rushed. It's hard to root for a relationship we only see in quick clips. This movie was pretty short so spending 10-15 extra minutes establishing the relationship for the audience probably would've helped the romance be a lot more believable. I'm not sure if it's rushed like that in the book too because I haven't read it but the title is Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between. The hello is a blip and we are missing a big chunk of that in between part.
There was a line where ol' boy was like how you doing, you doing good - no response - no no no it's cool you don't have to respond to that! I was like Right! I loved it, I give cred to the novelist , even though I am not familiar with the source I would like to think she wrote that line! This was one hundred percent adorable , I wouldn't of changed one thing!
It was so unbelievably boring and pointless, I almost scratched my eyes out. I kept fast-forwarding, hoping it would become more bearable but it didn't. It was like watching a 2 hour-length-you-tube commercial . There was no emotion or soul or chemistry between the characters. The general plot idea was good but the writing and the scenes- JESUS it was like it was cobbled up in two minutes (WHERE IS THE FLAVOUR OR EVEN CARE? ) The worst thing is it wasn't even enjoyably or laughably horrible, just mind-numbingly dull. This should have been a 5 minute short or something.
The actors are unlikeable, there is no chemistry. Dialogues and scenes are too long and boring. There is no real plot. I was extremely bored to watch to the end.
This movie is typical of the writing and today's Hollywood. The female lead knows everything and is very sure of herself. Knows exactly what she wants in life and will do anything to get it. Including, sacrificing friends and love. The male lead character is portrayed as a fun-loving buffoon who doesn't know his true passion for music and has no idea what he wants to do in the future. And the only true love during the movie is portrayed using two female characters. My suggestion, skip this movie and watch any teenage movie from the '80s or 90's instead.
