I used ground beef for the filling, however, you can always use your filling of choice. Ensure you use cold water and cold butter so the fat can remain solid and to prevent the formation of gluten. You can alternatively make your meat pie in the oven. What matters is that the pie is baked under high heat. The air fryer is a good alternative for the oven. I rolled the pie dough/crust too thin which is why there aren't a lot of layers, if you want it to be layered and textured, ensure you don't roll the pie dough/crust too much.
