Tried to watch this, not as good as his earlier stand ups. This show was hard to watch, almost fell asleep multiple times. Even the audience seemed bored, only a few chuckles from them during. A few of the jokes were just cringey, and others dragged on way to long to be funny. Don't know if Kevin can come back from this one.
I'm a Brit! Our humour tends to be dry, a little sarcastic and below the belt. Sometimes we don't get American humour because we don't always get the cultural references. I don't even have kids or pets but I laughed my head off. Then I made the mistake of looking on IMDb whilst watching it and I saw all these negative reviews and I couldn't understand why. Then it clicked that he's in London and maybe we get the jokes more so than his own countrymen. I've seen pregnant women do stand-up. Disabled stand-up, racially biased stand-up - i.e taking the mickey out of Black, Jewish, Indian cultures. Sometimes I don't get it but to me, that doesn't mean their set is rubbish. Kevin uses his own life situations with his height (or lack thereof) *, raising kids, pets, etc as material and now he's making people cringe? Maybe I'm easy to please. I thought he was funny.
I couldn't agree more with adrian-fulnecek below. It was so forced and shouty, not the witty, funny and sometimes wise Kevin I saw on numerous interviews (especially the recent Graham Norton Show). I tried really hard to watch to the end but only made it half way, I was going to finish it this evening but I think I'll wash my hair instead.
I couldn't watch the whole special. The amount of shrieking, shouting and gesturing about how he didn't respect his marriage, pregnant wife, or family by cheating. How he is on the path of maturing and becoming a better man (again) mixed with jokes about his shortness, his kids, * (and some more shouting and shrieking about that). Sure. Some things is kinda funny, but I constantly get reminded that he actually doesn't seem to evolve as a grown man, father, husband, or human at all. He doesn't seem sincere at all when talking about making mistakes and trying to learn, just like it is material for stand up. He and his stand up seems so unmodern and a bit left behind in a way for me. But I do get that if you've always loved his style you might still enjoy it. I would just rather watch Dave C, Hasan M or Neal B any day over this guy. But that is just me.
There's literally nothing funny about this. Extremely unfunny.
Why do I see Kevin Hart having some sort of living legend status? His stand up sucks. He is barely funny. My friends are funnier in real life. Hell, I am funnier. This one was especially bad. He is supposed to be internationally famous comedian? All his jokes are super tired and predictable. He is just shouting and jumping around. wtf?! I had to give it two stars because one star is reserved for the worst stand up comedian of all time. Yes, you guessed right..
Huh? how many people paid to see this and then wanted a refund? I couldn't make it 10 minutes - not funny.
Barely a few chuckles on this one and I was barely tempted to watch after the last horrible stand-up special Kevin did. Truly only watched because it was storming outside and we lost the DirecTV signal on live TV. Kevin should have taken a page from the comedy greats like Pryor, Murphy and Lawrence who only did two to three stand-up specials Tops! You can tell that his material is sorely lacking and reaching for laughs, but most of the material comes off as corny. His loud, high pitched punch lines are overdone and recycled from past specials. My advice would be for Kevin to stick to doing movies. He made a few really funny specials early on, but it's been high budget bombs ever since about his 4th one.
I am a fan, but right now a fan very disappointed. Please do not waste your time watching this crap.
