The name might seem cocky, but the movie is okay.
is so good
I actually loved it. The description sounds like a cheesy hallmark movie, and there are certainly elements of that, but there's still some emotional and meaningful moments and it was enjoyable. Loved the characters, I thought it was well acted, and the beauty of Australia is definitely showcased front and centre. I laughed, I cried, and I will watch again! Not sure what the negative reviewers thought they were going to get; it's a bit cliche but heartwarming, which is exactly how it is described. If you like this kind of movie, you'll enjoy it, and if this genre isn't your cup of tea, you might not. I actually hate Hallmark type movies - I can't do the over the top cheese - but IMO this movie has found exactly the right balance to make it not just watchable, but entertaining.
I felt secondhand embarrassment throughout. If we were to stack the clichés found in this movie, they would be higher than Mount Kosciuszko! The acting, screenplay, and dialogues are all horrendous. The whole thing is so far from reality that it becomes bizarre. This must be what Hell's Hollywood looks like. This is the kind of movie you need to watch over and over. Who funded this? Didn't the director or the actors feel it when they read the script? At least someone during the shooting...? Wasn't there even one props person who would say "we shouldn't do this"? I really don't want to bad-mouth anyone, but I think this is a disgrace. If I had any involvement in something like this, I'd have my name removed from the credits. And most importantly: who funded this? I'm only giving it 2 points because it's set in a beautiful location. (But it really deserves a zero.)
Who ever casted for this movie must have lost a bet, the main female lead supposed to portray a local Australian little town pilot who cares about the people more than she does about money and profits, but somehow looks more like an instagram model who cares about her looks more than anything else, the amount of needless makeup that even a hurricane didn't wipe off. Don't get me wrong I didn't expect an Oscar performance , but the acting wasn't believable to say the least. "The 50 year old" plane looks like it came out of factory the morning they were flying it. I gave it 3 stars for the beautiful views and the cool accents.
