Nardelly AC offers an intimate look at her room in Rothman (formerly 150 Elm), a house for Ada Comstock Scholars. Rothman House was built in the late 1800s and became a property of Smith College at the school's founding. In 1917, it opened as a campus house, used as first-semester overflow housing for first-year students. Currently, Rothman houses 12 Ada Comstock Scholars. In May 2024, the house was named in honor of Eleanor Rothman, founding director of Smith’s Ada Comstock Scholars Program for nontraditional-age students. Since the program was established in 1975, a total of 2,482 women ranging in age from their 20s to their mid-80s have earned Smith degrees as Ada Comstock Scholars. Rothman directed the program for 23 years. Video by Jessica Scranton
