And I thought 'Dude Where's my Car' was bad. The first 30 minutes is music and one paragraph of talking. How in the hell did HBO put this on. 2nd worst movie ever. Please tell Jeff Bridges not to put a gun to his head and squeeze off, from his brother performance. MacGyver is in it too. Same smug character, It doesn't even relate to the series. Tapper's performance is OK. That's it. Ben Browder acting again is sub-par. I do like the fact that Hollywood has a sense of humor. This is a example to college students on how not to make a movie.

Some of the SG-1 Team accidentally go back in time and then try to warn Earth that Aliens will soon be invading. Of course, no one believes them. The Stargate TV series has been going on for years brought on by the Stargate movie starring James Spader and others. The series is every bit as good if not better than all the Star Trek TV shows and movies and the Spin-offs. Well, the Stargate series has come to an end mostly because Richard Dean Anderson who lives in California didn't want to keep making the trip to Vancouver where the series is shot. Most cast members have moved on to the Stargate Atlantis TV show. And, Richard Dean Anderson does make short appearances on that show. I mention all this because this Stargate series itself was one Class-Act, the cast was excellent, the stories got better and better, and one of the things I liked best about the series was the humor that Richard Dean Anderson insisted on from the very beginning. Someone not familiar with the TV series will still enjoy this movie and it may even prompt them to watch the DVDs from Season I. I envy those people. They are in for a real treat. Some show story-lines never left Earth, and others had us going thru the Stargate to distant planets where, in many cases, different life styles, ideas, and governments ruled the day. Nothing kinky though. Never. In this movie, we get to see characters that faded out of the series for one reason or another, and, oh, yes, sometimes they were brought back in those TV shows and those were really good times when we saw them again. And, it wasn't always about Aliens going to attack Earth. There is a classic show based on the repeating concept in the movie Ground Hog Day and one can watch that one over and over again. There were others like that too. Like the time the SG-1 Crew was forced to consult in a Hollywood movie Spoof about people fighting aliens. And, the time when an ordinary man had visions of the SG-1 team fighting for Earth and no one believed him, but this did cause concern among Stargate Command and SG-1, of course. And, the one about multiple SG-1 teams getting caught up in a time warp displacement and all trying to get back to their Earth and the way they interacted with each other was pure gold. I could go on and on. In this movie we see Ba'al (Simon) a System War Lord (considered a god) who is about to be rendered as a mere human for his crimes against the Universe, use a trick up his sleeve to change time and because of this some of the SG-1 Team are forced back in time and try to warn Earth about Aliens invading etc. Everything is good, the acting, dialogue, cinematography, the CGI and it was over too soon for me. I miss the TV series. I miss it all. Yes, watching people in a story go back in time and interact with those they knew in another time-line is really fascinating stuff. And, that is what you will see in here. Lucky you. Violence: Yes. Sex: No. Nudity: No. Language: No, well a couple Sh_ _ words were heard.

I was almost a little disappointed. It was a big time film, with almost everything -- but it wasn't conclusive enough even on it's own, let alone for someone who's watched 10 years of stargate. As a part of stargate it was very good. As a final ending, and finishing note for 10 years, it was lacking. It didn't really answer my unanswered questions, you know - the one's you always watch every episode to see if some hint is revealed. The biggest disappointment for me was, that I've really missed Jack O'Neill (or Richard Dean Anderson) being a part of the series, and I was Thrilled when I saw he was in the credits for this one, but then he didn't even have a particularly prominent role. It's totally possible I'm just disappointed because this is the last ting, but I really wanted it to be huge, and make the series feel complete. But they were smart in terms of going back to the basics, and bringing us all back to the really good stargate of those first few seasons.

STARGATE is the freaking greatest TV-series i've seen my whole life. It all started when a friend of mine forced me to watch two episodes with him. It was actually interesting :) Within the following 3 months I had bought and seen all of stargate up to date. 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1 containing 214 episodes, 5 seasons of Stargate Atlantis containing 100 episodes, ½ season of Stargate Universe containing so far 10 episodes Besides that i've seen the two stargate movies: Stargate: Continuum and Stargate: The Ark of Truth Well, my point is that this is a freaking awesome TV-series. Worth watching! Maybe you shoudn't do it like me(watching 16 seasons and 2 movies within 3 months), but at least watch it:) Its so damn worth it.

Fan since the SG1 movie! It is good to see all the 'old faces', but too much yakking and not enough action. If the ship was seaworthy enough to float, where did the water come from? Jackson's solution-artificial leg, seen when he calls himself. How did the C4 blast a chimney and how did they get up it? If they couldn't contact each other, how was Cam able to call Sam then call Jackson? The scene in the chamber with the warriors, reminded me of the Imps in Doom. Why didn't SG1 have the mini Chapp'i power source earlier? Why didn't Cam's appearance in 1939 create a time paradox? Too many open ends and assumptions. Entertaining, anyway. Glad I bought it at discount. Lunatic1-1

The movie was OK, as much as a let down as 200 was, but at least it was OK. Blu-ray on a decent TV makes this thing look like utter and complete crap. I returned it to the store to get the DVD because at least that doesn't look as bad. Playing on a DVD seems better since all the detail in the backgrounds/foreground is lost and you don't get a picture full of noise. There is still some, but it's a lot harder to see. I would have liked to see this come out in the theater, because they would have had to clean it up a great deal to keep people from walking out and asking the manager what's wrong with the picture?

This movie was SO enjoyable. I just wish it could have been longer - there could have been more fun/funny things happening for the year they were all in limbo. Plus it would have been great to have Jack in much more of the movie, although I presume Richard Dean Anderson didn't want to do that. I love the writing for Jack's witty sarcasm. I realized with great nostalgia, how much I MISSED this show (with these characters - so liked them all). I have always missed the "Jack" humor since he left the show - so liked the little laughs from his lines. The writing was terrific - action-packed and a good story line. I liked the bigger budget effects. I think Ba'al is a fun bad guy. If you were a Stargate SG-1 fan, you will have a very good time with this movie - and it WILL be over WAY too soon. I wish the $ people would decide to do a few more (maybe could film 2 at a time) - if they can be this clever and well-written AND with the full cast (even though they'd have to film around everyone's schedules).
