Wrestling Bios Presents - The 2002 WWE Return of Shawn Michaels When it comes to entertaining an audience, nobody could do it quite like HBK Shawn Michaels. Shawn has always been considered as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time, giving fans some of the most exciting matches in wrestling history while remaining an interesting character outside of the ring. In 1998, it seemed like Shawn's career was over. After dropping the WWF Championship to Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14, Shawn went home and the WWE moved on without him. In 2002, Shawn came back to the WWE as a member of the nWo, becoming the only nWo member to never work in WCW. When the nWo storyline ended abruptly, Shawn began working an angle with Triple H. The angle led to a short D-Generation X reunion and a comeback match for Michaels. Shawn Michaels vs Triple H at SummerSlam 2002 was better than anyone could have imagined with Shawn Michaels putting on one of his greatest performances after being gone for nearly 5 years.
