London Business School was established nearly 50 years ago as a centre of excellence for management education in the UK. Since then, we have broadened our ambition to become a world-leading business school and as our stature has grown, so too has our vision to have a profound impact on the way the world does business. As we begin our next fifty years, we invite you to help us write the next chapter of the London Business School story. We need your support to accomplish our vision and to maintain the highest standards in everything we do. More than 350 members of the London Business School community gathered in the atmospheric One Marylebone to celebrate the launch of the School's £100m Campaign. The event formed part of this year's Worldwide Alumni Celebration, which saw thousands of alumni come together in 70 cities+ around the globe on the same day. In attendance at the London event was alumnus Idan Ofer, industrialist and principal of the Quantum Pacific Group, who pledged - through The Idan and Batia Ofer Family Foundation - a £25m donation towards the redevelopment of Old Marylebone Town Hall, acquired by the School last year. This iconic building will be named 'The Sammy Ofer Centre' in honour of Idan's late father, Sammy Ofer KBE. In addition to hearing from Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean; The Hon Apurv Bagri, Campaign Chairman and Governing Body Deputy Chairman; and Sir John Ritblat, Governing Body Chairman, attendees at One Marylebone were treated to beautiful choral music by the acclaimed choir The Sixteen. In the campaign to clear the world's battlefields of landmines and other unexploded ordinance, an MBA from London Business School emerges as a surprisingly potent weapon.
