source: The Golden Holiday
And more fascinated by south korean filmaking, even though this is quite on average i guess, and the story put together like on a active high, with a plot that runs on overdrive between different locations, where the neddle of a haystack called manilla must be mounting high as the large stone bauta in washington dc, because the culprits comes to the detectives feet like cockroaches in a breadbox while hes on holiday with his small family as part of their honeymoon travel 1st time abroad after 10 years marriage. well its wild and its supercoplike comedy, with a lot of slapping and twinching and kicking as usual korean style. its all about old friendships, money and decency, how it ends i shall not tell, just say i cant find a good comparision in my brain archive, so pretty original. score and acting are prima vera style as always outta south korea, and even though the director looses the grip in ecstasy here and there its a recommendabel watch. subtitling english are good, so have a lol with the grumpy old man.
The biggest problem with this movie is that it has those typical Korean characters. They are all corrupt, materialistic, money-hungry, selfish, backstabbing a-holes. But with no redeeming qualities, so none of them are likeable. The main character is an incompetent idiot as well. The movie tries to be funny that way, but it's just annoying instead, because you don't sympathize with the protagonists. The story revolves around a treasure hunt in the Philippines. Sounds great but it's actually quite lackluster and uninteresting.
