Was it because of Amber Heard's SPECTACULAR body in a bikini?? Was it because I kept thinking about the original "Stepfather"?. Nah, this remake surely hasn't the guts of the original in terms of violence and character development. Terry O'Quinn is unforgettable and Jill Schoelen was simply great. But in this one, we have the typical Hollywood plot that reminds you of any Warner Brothers t.v. series with the inclusion of a maniac who has a dark past. The pace is the best thing about it. It goes directly to the point. The acting is actually very good! The score was on, and the Direction was avid. Just give it a chance if you have anything better to do.
