UFC 307 is set for October 5 in Salt Lake City. Alex Pereira brings in Sean Strickland for a special sparring session as he prepares for his highly anticipated matchup against Khalil Rountree Jr. in the UFC. Most people thought No. 1-ranked light heavyweight contender Magomed Ankalaev would get the next shot at champion Alex Pereira. So, when it was announced Pereira would instead defend his belt against the No. 8-ranked Khalil Rountree, a lot of people were left scratching their heads It's fair that some people would have preferred to see Ankalaev get the shot — he deserves it based on his ranking alone. However, it's hard to be mad at a matchup like Pereira vs. Rountree.
