A major debate has emerged around Hardik Pandya's fitness, India's 2027 World Cup plans, and the Asian Games 2026 squad. During a discussion, Rahul Rawat pointed out that Nitish Kumar Reddy may not be giving his full 100% on the field yet because he is still returning from injury and naturally trying to avoid unnecessary risks. According to Rahul, the BCCI's message could be clear: allow Hardik Pandya to become completely fit while India prepares Nitish Kumar Reddy as a backup all-rounder. However, if Hardik misses the 2027 World Cup due to recurring injuries, India's entire team combination could change. The selectors may have to play an extra batter and an extra bowler instead of a genuine pace-bowling all-rounder. Rahul Rawat also suggested that if Hardik is unavailable, Ishan Kishan could become a strong contender for India's World Cup 2027 Playing XI and may even open the batting. He further questioned why Hardik Pandya was not included in the Asian Games 2026 squad despite being such a crucial player for India's plans.
