This is when Finn Balor got targeted by Rhyno. Rhyno returned in February 2015 to face Elias Samson. Rhyno caught him with the Gore to win the match in 30 seconds. Finn had an interview, Rhyno appeared and stared him down without saying anything. Four months later in June, Rhyno said he came to NXT to get his place at the top. He said Finn is the top competitor, saying he’s dangerous and he has to eliminate him on his road to the NXT Title. They met that evening. Finn dodged the Gore and rolled up Rhyno for the win. When Finn was celebrating on the stage, Rhyno caught him with a brutal gore. Hideo Itami returned three weeks later, issuing a future title challenge and Kevin Owens interrupted. Kevin went after Itami, Finn attacked him, Kevin ran away and Finn went after him. Finn went for a jump, Rhyno attacked him and kicked him off the stage. Then they had a match. Finn hit Rhyno with the Coup de Grâce to win the match. Kevin attacked Finn, Rhyno joined the assault and Samoa Joe came out for the save. There was a tag team match next week. Rhyno caught Kevin with the gore by mistake, Finn dropkicked him into Kevin, he dropkicked Kevin as well and hit him with the Coup de Grâce to win the match. Three months later at Takeover Respect, Finn and Joe faced Baron Corbin and Rhyno in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic final. Joe hit Rhyno with the Muscle Buster and Finn hit him with the Coup de Grâce to win the trophy.
