Rare complete 1972 TV matchup of Andre “The Giant” Roussimoff challenging WWA World Champion Baron Von Raschke. World Wrestling Association (WWA) was Dick The Bruiser’s Indianapolis promotion where he was champion for the majority of the 1960s. WWA existed from 1964 to 1989 and was affiliated with the larger American Wrestling Association (AWA), recognizing that promotions champions (alongside WWA’s) and those of the Indianapolis-based “Powerful Women of Wrestling” promotion. In this matchup, Baron is the main heel (on his third title reign) and is accompanied by Bobby “The Pretty Boy” Heenan. Wilbur Snyder, who was both Dick The Bruiser’s WWA business partner AND the innovator of the Abdominal Stretch, provides backup for Roussimoff throughout this match.
