Did you know that scorpions have lived on Earth for over 400 million years? That means they’re older than dinosaurs! Let’s learn more interesting information together in this educational video for kids. Scorpions are arachnids with eight jointed legs and special body parts that help them survive. They have two large, claw-like pincers called pedipalps that enable them to grab and crush their prey or protect themselves from predators. Scorpions have a curved tail that ends in a venomous stinger. Their bodies are covered in a hard outer shell called an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is made of a strong material called chitin, which keeps them safe and helps hold in moisture. While they live in many places, scorpions are most common in warm, dry habitats like deserts, grasslands, and forests. Some even live in caves or under rocks and logs. They are nocturnal, so they typically hide during the day and emerge at night. They live alone most of the time, although they sometimes gather in gro

Did you know that we use energy every day? Whether it is to heat our homes, power our cars, or light up our buildings, we really depend on it! Some forms of energy are limited and can be harmful to the environment, like fossils fuels. Others are renewable, which means they cannot be used up. In this educational video, we are going to talk about forms of renewable energy.   You might have heard the term, “green energy” before. This is another name for renewable energy because it comes from our planet’s own renewable resources.   Forms of this type of energy include: solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, and nuclear.   We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about renewable energy! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!   https://learnbright.org/lessons/science/alternative-energy-stem/   Thank you for watching and learning with us! What reptile has been around since the dinosaurs, has a narrow V-shaped snout, visible teeth, and is olive brown in color? A crocodile, of course! In this kids video, we are going to learn about some killer croc facts that are cool enough to share with your friends!   Crocodiles are found in various parts of the world, including Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Americas. They can live in both fresh water and salt water, which is pretty killer!   Crocs often gather in large groups. These groups are called basks when they are on land, and floats when they are in the water. Crocodiles are very protective of their young; the mothers often carry their babies to the water in their mouths and stay with them to keep them safe. Awwww!   We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about crocodiles! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!   https://learnbright.org/
