Yale’s ASL Program is offered by the department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). The FAS is home to 1,000+ faculty and 40+ departments and programs that span the divisions of Humanities, Social Science, and Science, and provide the instruction to the students of Yale College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

“Project 14,” a collaboration of the Yale Glee Club, Yale Bands, and Yale Symphony Orchestra, features performances of 14 works by composers of color, each taking place in a residential college courtyard. Ten of the works are newly commissioned pieces. The entire 14-piece suite will premiere on Oct. 9 during an online Family Weekend.

For over three decades, members of the Yale Ballroom Dance Team have shared their love of social and competitive dancing in styles ranging from the hip-shaking mambo to the stately Viennese waltz.

Since 2019, Yale students have been “learning the ropes” in Yale Club Jump Rope, one of 50 club sports offered to undergraduate and graduate students through Yale Athletics, and among the newest ones. In the club, participants master the challenging skills of turning the ropes (and often more than one rope simultaneously, as well learning new jumping “tricks.” Members of the club hail the sport for being a high cardio activity as well as an exercise that demands being in sync with fellow jumpers and rope twirlers.

Danielle Vance embarked on her career at the university in 2017 as a dining services manager, and today, she is one of three executive chefs supporting a pod of Yale College dining halls.

The Yale Peabody Museum reopened on Tuesday, March 26, after a four-year transformative renovation. Its first guests on opening day were students from New Haven public schools, who were captivated by the museum’s new and reimagined exhibits.

The Yale College Class of 2024 gathered on Old Campus for a celebration marked by student reflections, prizes for distinguished graduates — and, of course, creative hats. In this video, we highlight just a sampling of the hats adorned by graduating seniors — including Eggo waffles, Harkness Tower, and a houseplant named Bruno — in what has become a beloved Yale tradition.
