Where you almost go on auto-pilot and you go into a state where you just 'get the job done'? It can happen when you are doing anything. Mowing the lawn, painting a wall, writing a letter. In sporting performance it's often referred to as being 'In the zone'. For me, finding flow in boxing offers a much greater chance of success. In anything you undertake, lay the groundwork for flow to occur. 1. Recognise when you encounter flow. Make a note. What led up to it? What music were you listening to? What steps did you take to prepare (prepare being the key word)? 2. Once you've identified those things, seek to recreate them. Don't try to force it, that's not possible. But when you have that formula, simply repeat it. 3. Create the conditions through calmness, clarity and focus. Avoid negative emotions, positive visualisations all the way. Cheers Fran
