Publisher's Summary A number-one best seller in several categories with over 14,000 five-star ratings on Goodreads. From the number-one New York Times best-selling and award-winning author Colleen Hoover comes "A stand-alone romantic thriller that is tragic, creepy, and brilliant!" (Mel Reader Reviews) Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of the night their family was forever altered. Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her. Sexy. Twisted. Consuming. Due to graphic scenes and mature content, this book is recommended for listeners 18+. ©2018 Colleen Hoover (P)2019 Audible, Inc.

Definitely worth my credit. ***** Five star review for me. kept me intrested the wole time.
Just when I thought I had it all figured out, there's a twist. The story keeps listeners engaged.
No, this book is just a big NO from me.I haven't gotten thru a 1/3 of it but there's WAY too much that i dont wanna listen to.I would NOT reccomend! PASS
This was absolutely impossible to press pause on.It drew me in right from the first minute until the last second. This is my first book by this author, but I am definitely looking into more soon.
Is this really the kind of novel women want? It's basically very bad female porno. I hated it and didn't even finish it.
I got this book on audible based on a recommendation and after reading the raving reviews. This book was not at all what I expected. It did not live up to the hype for me at all. At no point did it build any rising tension for me. Because of all the hype I was throughly disappointed with this book. If you are looking for a good sleezy book for an airplane trip this may be the book for you. Just don’t expect too much.
Verity is a very simple love story with a psychological thriller twist. It's a fast, easy read. It's predictable and it's a little bit different, but it's not nearly the book to knock anyone's socks off.If you enjoy romance with a twist or darkness, you may enjoy it.I didn't think it was 'all that.'And, at first I was irritated about the long wait for it on Audible..But I wasn't really missing anything. Just meh. -Wendi
WTF is the only thing that keeps repeating on loop having just finished this mindbending thriller. Like, I thought I knew CoHo, but... what did I actually just read?Oh yeah, the narration was perfect. But the words... yeah, still reeling. I'm terrified of your brain lady.If any other readers are afraid to read this book like I was.. you should be, but not for the reasons you think. This story is going to grip your brain so tight and twist any preconceived notions you ever had about Colleen Hoover being normal. I mean, she just completely obliterated my brain... but in the best way possible. Thanks for making me feel as batcrap crazy as you apparently are.I mean brilliant.CoHo, you so brilliant, not crazy. Yeah, that's what I meant.
This sums up what I am feeling right about now. I mean how can I even express my thoughts at this moment. I don’t know if I liked it, loved it, or hated it. Seriously I am so so many emotions right now. I am afraid to let myself think too hard about this book for fear I might go a little crazy. How can I have such strong emotions to a work of FICTION and yes I had to keep telling myself this was FICTION NOT real PAM NOT Real!! Haha. My good friend got some pretty interesting voice messages and even a vid of me because I couldn’t contain myself I had to share what I was feeling with someone!!!! Nothing like any of Colleen’s other books for sure, so remember that when going in. I KNEW this going in and still, I was shocked. Her ability to make me viscerally hate a character, a true gift with the words is what she has. I will be over here in shock and trying to justify it to myself. I enjoyed the heck out the narrators I think they did a fabulous job.
I bought this book based on reviews , and although it started strong and kept some intrigue until about the middle, it ended with the stupidest ,most formulaic way possible . Total dud. Don’t bother.
I am no prude but the amount of sex in this story was way over the top. It contributed nothing to the story. And the narrator only made it worse. And the "twist" at the end? Give. me. a. break.
