ARC Raiders is not dead — but I do think it lost the narrative. In this video, I talk about how the conversation around ARC Raiders started drifting away from the game itself, and how that can shape the way people view a game long before they fully decide how they feel on their own. I also break down the psychology behind this using Solomon Asch’s conformity study, and why the “room” around a game — YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, Discord, clips, and community discussion — matters more than people think. At the same time, this is not a blame video. ARC Raiders has real criticism, but it is also still very much alive. The new map is a great addition, expeditions remain a major part of the extraction shooter loop, and the game still offers a lot for players willing to engage with what it has to offer.
