This is how Austin Theory won his first US Title. In April 2022, Theory attacked Pat McAfee, who ran after him backstage. Theory instantly went into Vince McMahon’s office and McAfee wanted to leave. When Theory was leaving, Finn Balor attacked him, threw him inside the ring and a brawl erupted with Jey and Shinsuke Nakamura joining. Then there was a six man tag team match. Finn went for the finish, Theory knocked him down and hit him with the A-Town Down to pin the US champion. At WrestleMania 38, McAfee beat Theory. Next day on Raw, Theory and The Usos faced Riddle, Randy Orton and Finn. Randy caught Jimmy with the RKO, Jey superkicked him, he also superkicked Riddle, Finn caught him with the Sling Blade and Theory hit him with the A-Town Down to pin the US Champion once again. A week later, Theory told Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville that Vince assured him a shot at the US Title, saying that he is now only Theory because Austin doesn’t suit him. Then Pearce gave him the match. Theory and Finn met next week. Theory dodged the Coup de Grâce and hit Finn with the A-Town Down to win the title. Vince came out, Theory took a selfie with him, they shook hands and celebrated together.
