Gulf Giants started their ILT20 Season 4 with a strong win against MI Emirates. Pathum Nissanka played a brilliant knock of 81 runs and led the chase perfectly. Azmatullah Omarzai also shined with an all-round show, scoring 39* off just 16 balls and taking 2 wickets. MI Emirates scored 163/6 after Pollard’s fast 50 and Nicholas Pooran’s 46, but their runs went in vain. The Giants’ bowlers — Omarzai, Nuwan Thushara and Moeen Ali — kept MI under pressure from the beginning. While Pollard hit three sixes in one over and Pooran tried to rebuild the innings, MI could not finish big. Omarzai removed Pollard in the final over, and the Giants chased the target in only 14.4 overs.
